Marijuana Legalization would be for the benefit of society. We as a nation would be to add it. There are several reasons I make this claim. While Pot has it's problem, it's benefits for outweigh It's consequences.
If Pot were legal, many people would switch from alcohol to Pot. I think a lot of alcohol abuse come from the fact that it is the only legal drug and it is overused. Alcohol is highly addictive, physically and spiritually destructive, and seriously reduce the community. I think if Pot was legal, many would switch Pot and be much better off. I think one side effect of marijuana legalization would be a great reduction in the abuse of alcohol and the number of traffic deaths would drop significantly.
The only reason Pot isn't legal is because there are a lot of people to make money because it'is not legal
Another reason is to save the huge cost in tax dollars wasted in prohibition Pot and enforce drug laws that have no benefit in society. If Pot was legal to eliminate immediately the illegal Pot market and get rid of crimes related to money Pot. You may also out of jail all judged from Pot related offense and cut the cost of having to build new prisons to incarcerate ordinary people. Since mandatory drug sentencing laws, many states to release violent offenders to make room for Pot smokers. That's stupid!
Pot has many other uses. For lumber industry lobbied Congress to make illegal Pot, Marijuana (known as Hemp) was the main source of fiber for the manufacture of paper. The United States Constitution is printed on Pot. With today's technology that can be these fibers work in construction materials that would replace wood products saving our forests and reduce the cost of building and produce useful byproducts in the fuel to run vehicles and generate electricity. Hemp is a very hearty plant and would be a good cash crop for our nation's farmers.
